Instead of relaxing, I have been having to help my youngest with his taekwondo. I sure wish he was more prepared! I really miss DH, he's the one who has been working with him but he is still out of town. At least, he has an older brother who has been helping. Not that willing, but he can demonstrate the moves for his little brother so he is doing it.

I went to bed early last night and then of course I woke up at my normal time, 5:30. Doesn't my body know it's the weekend?

Going to relax and drink coffee and surf the net for decorating ideas, and do a bit of quiet housework. I can't really do too much because my DH flew in so late last night and I don't want to wake him up. At least I can fix a good breakfast for my kiddos like pancakes before we need to leave for their sports event. So glad nobody is in baseball this year. Our events only last a couple of hours, baseball lasts all day around here with multiple games.

1. watered plants
2. put a new load in the washer
3. Later, once everyone is awake we need to put away clean clothes, we have full laundry baskets.

This weekend, I want to finish my project in the master bathroom. I've got 3/4 of the counters clean, I need to clean off the last part and organize the cabinets in there. Once the bathroom is done, I will need to tackle my bedroom 15 mins at a time but probably won't get very much done next week as it is a huge stressful week at work.

Taekwondo tournament done! It lasted 3 hours for all three kids to get done. All my boys placed in the top three so they were happy. It was a lot of hurry up and wait and very nerve racking and tons of pressure especially on my 7 year old. But, it was good practice for him.

Life is about pressure as my older boys know after their years of state testing at school, school presentations, and drama plays. I think it also is a good lesson on being prepared. I like that you need to finish in the top three to get a reward. I know it's disappointing for the kids but I think this trend of everyone gets a trophy doesn't really prepare them for life and what they can achieve with hard work.

I am going to my beauty appt in a little bit and then taking my son to get his new glasses, contacts and meds. Then, he should be set. laugh.gif

More laundry to put away and then going to work some more in my bathroom and bedroom, tomorrow.

Cleared out and organized 5 drawers in the bathrooms so I was able to sweep all my husband's clutter into two drawers. laugh.gif I told him those were his drawers and put some pretty candles in the place of that hotspot. Much better! We still need to go through those drawers and organize but that can be his job and we can get some more drawer dividers for those drawers. At least the counters are all done in the bath.

I need to buy more wall hangers for my jewelry as well. Looking good though so much easier to keep the surfaces clean without all that clutter. In years past, I would have been anxious about throwing things but I pitched a lot and didn't really feel bad about it. Yeah, me! laugh.gif

Still lots of work to declutter cabinets and closets through out the house but I feel I am making progress on surfaces. I finally feel like I doing lots of clutter before it took all my energy to just get routines done. My kids came in and said "wow, your bathroom is really clean! "

Feel physically and emotionally drained today! I am not sure what I will get done. Today might be a rest/fun day. My DH took care of breakfast and planned dinner so that's a relief.

If I do anything it might be more decluttering in my bedroom/bathroom area. We will see, might just go out to eat with my hubby and youngest son. The older ones are helping grandmother.

I did vacuum and mop most of the downstairs.

I ended up having a good time tonight searching decorating blogs. Got some great ideas for my dining room sideboard. I will need to do more on my living room walls and my bedroom, they both need some more help.

Going to just have a fun night! Tough upcoming work week so just trying to relax and not think about how many things need to be done around here or repaired. Even though things are looking much better, I am having a hard time battling my perfection tendencies. I am looking at things more half empty than full.

I know I am doing the best job possible with work, and family but I am having a hard time as it's not what I want things to look like.

Hi Fluff! Oh, that darn *erfectionism. I think you do an amazing job of keeping a good grip on it all- work and home. Not just maintaining but continuing to make progress. That's no small task with 3 kids and working full time. Yay you!

I thought about you the other night when I was checking out this decorating blog. So fun. I could get lost surfing in it for hours. Her monthly linking parties have many other good blogs too. Lots of fun reading. The link is below.

Have a good week. I hope it's not as stressful as you are expecting. smile.gif

Thanks, Peace! I have looked at Thrify Decor Chick many times. I also like Centsational Girl. A website I just found with lots of pictures is houzz.com. That one you have to battle your perfectionist tendencies though as everything looks so wonderful but some do post before and after pictures that are amazing. I like the cottage style the best, I guess because it's more about using what you have, and painting things to make them look like new and it's a house you would feel more comfortable hanging out in.

So much for having fun last night, I thought I would get some quiet time in my room and ended up falling asleep at 6:30 and slept around the clock till morning. I guess I needed it. I am on a new bp medication that makes me tired, I don't think my body has totally adjusted yet. The next three days at work will be a lot of pressure so the sleep will probably help.

As usual with my perfectionism, I want everything fixed now! I feel like I have been very patient so that's why I am getting frustrated. However, we only have enough time, money to fix things gradually. I guess it's because I lot of my kids's friends live in newer houses that don't need any repairs and have perfect yards that I think our house and yard suffer in comparison but it's really not a competition so I just need to let it go.

It's looking better a little bit at a time and that's better than not at all. Patience never one of my strong suits though and I feel pressure to be ready for the future but who is really ever ready.

Feeling unsympathic towards family members today. I feel sorry for their situation but they are always so down and negative and I am really over it because it brings me down every day. Probably really selfish but there it is. I am tired of it! Just for one day, act happy or fake it. They refuse to do anything to change it. Not to mention they have no reality about what's going on with anyone else. Grrr! Sorry, I just need to vent.

Came in unloaded dishwasher, going to put away a load of laundry and then help my son with homework. That may be about it for today. I am not going to do any extra housework this week because it's been such a tough , stressful week at work. I think I am going to read a book in bed tonight.

Hugs, Fluff!

You and Peace both sound like your work weeks have been tough. I am sorry. Sorry, about the extended family situation. I have some slightly toxic family members that I have to step around. It is like they are Vampires that suck out your energy. We just seem to rehash the same old problems and nothing ever gets solved. I feel your pain girl. Get some rest and read that book. By now, you are probably asleep. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Have a great Thursday.

Thanks, Dreaming! I have missed you. wink.gif

I got up and the dishwasher was loaded but not turned on. Oh, well. I just did it now but now my routine will be off. Another thing to do after work. I have found it's the little things that start adding up.

I just put another load in the dryer and hung up the rest that had been in there.

Going to try to have a positive attitude today. No complaining, we have many blessings in our life and I am going to enjoy them.

Last day of stressful work week, I hope it's not too bad. Tonight we have free tickets to the small circus that's in town. So we will take my little one and see if the teens want to go or not.

Then, saturday a big b-day party for my fil. It's an important one since he is ill. So tonight after work or in the morning, I need to make the food.

Yesterday I came in really tired, I need to make weight loss a priority because the extra weight is causing me to be tired. So Sunday I need to plan my diet meals and get back on track. But, I still came in and made dinner, emptied dishwasher, loaded it again and put away laundry. Then, took my guys to taekwondo class. My older boys did very well, so I am proud of them. In another week, they are moving up to a more difficult level.

My DH is getting quotes so we can fix things around the house. That's makes me so happy. We are having our trees trimmed in the front, then hopefully our front door and then flowers beds so it's not embarassing when people come over.

Ah, thanks Dreaming! That's very sweet. We had a wonderful night at the circus. My little one had a great time. I'm glad we got free tickets. I will have to make taking him to the big Barnum and Bailey's one a priority. Even my teens really enjoyed it, but then everyone loves a circus, right?

We are going to get up early tomorrow, take my kids to taekwondo and then grocery store to buy stuff for the party and birthday cards.

I can't wait till Sunday. I need some down time don't know if I will get it.

I also need to get with my doctor and some time in the next month and have a blood panel redone. A couple of numbers were screwy but I'm not worried yet I think it's because I didn't fast as long as last time and they took the test at a different time of day. I'm so glad I am getting my screenings more regularly though. I need to make taking care of myself a priority so I can be around for my family.

Sunday- busy saturday! Whew, fun day though and we got to see lots of family on my inlaws side and my kids got to play with their cousins.

1. set up an area for my kids to do homework with all the supplies in one place and crayons for my youngest in a nice wooden bowl on the table. did a quick declutter of my kitchen junk drawer.
2. changed around my dining room, a shelf in my den and a table in the living room. Found a old chess metal tray in the garage that I am going to polish and hang on my living room wall, found another metal tray I am going to repaint right now I put a nice cream colored cloth on it, it looks good.
3. Did some laundry
4. cleaned the kitchen
5. Going to clean out another cabinet in master bathroom, to put all my linens, I don't like where they currently are.
6. Need to fill out some forms and drop them off this afternoon for my son's summer camp.

You are on a roll! Looks like once again you had a very productive weekend.

We both had long, rough weeks at work last week. Here's to hoping this week is better for both of us. smile.gif

Thanks, Peace and Suzy! It was so nice to wake up to your posts this morning. wink.gif I am tired after my busy weekend and I want to take it easy tonight. But, I need to run to the store for groceries and take my kids to taekwondo. After talking to my parents as usual, I feel major guilt. It's all my husband and I can do to take care of your own responsibilities and can't really do anything for my parents who are out of town but I still feel guilty. Oh, well. One day at a time, just need to keep plugging away that's all any of us can do. Life is going to get better, I hope.

My goal is today to find my happy, hopeful attitude I usually have. I think some of the negative nellys in my extended family have worn it down but I am determined to get it back. I need to change my thinking between getting things done because I dread the future and getting things done because we deserve to live in a house where we can have people over without embarassment and letting the future take care of itself.

1. Laundry- didn't get to do any yesterday so I have to get some done today
2. Working on cleaning upstairs to get ready for some son's playdate on Weds.
3. Decluttering bedroom

That's probably about it for today. Happy flying everyone.

Didn't get laundry done. However, I did some decluttering done in my youngest child's room and a bit done in the playroom. I'm really happy with the way it looks now. Still need to do some work, get some new blinds, a bit of painting and hanging a few pictures but looks more like a room that fits a boy that loves animals and camping. My son is having a good friend over for a playdate tomorrow for the first time. We have been trying to schedule something for a while but between both their sports schedule and my work schedule, it's been a bit of a challenge.

All of the bedrooms need decluttering and work in the shelves and cabinets. I am trying to get them done a little bit at a time. Then the next step will be painting this summer.
